Herzlich Willkommen, Folks – auf dieser Seite finden Sie und findet ihr einige Infos zu meiner Arbeit. Meine Schwerpunkte in Forschung, Lehre und Museumsarbeit sind Populärkultur, Archive und Kulturerbe, kulturwissenschaftliche Arbeits- und Technikforschung und anthropology of the senses. Ich bin wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Universität Freiburg und habe zuvor an der Universität Zürich und an weiteren Stationen → geforscht und gelehrt, etwa als wissenschaftlicher Koordinator der Forschungsgruppe Broadcasting Swissness und am Deutschen Museum (→ CV). Ich habe in Hamburg und Sevilla studiert und 2012 an der Universität Zürich promoviert. Neben meinen → Publikationen engagiere ich mich für den → Transfer kulturwissenschaftlichen Wissens. Ich bin Mitglied verschiedener volkskundlicher Fachgesellschaften und Ko-Leiter des Schweizerischen Volksliedarchivs in Basel; ich lebe in Freiburg.
Welcome, Folks—I am a folklorist and cultural anthropologist; on this website you will find some information about my work, thanks for reading! My research and academic teaching comprise the fields of history of technology, labour studies, museum studies, cultural heritage and archives, and anthropology of the senses. Currently, I am a senior scientist at the University of Freiburg. I studied cultural anthropology at the Universities of Hamburg and Seville and earned my PhD from the University of Zurich. Research and teaching positions (→ CV), e.g., at Deutsches Museum Munich and at the University of Zurich (scientific coordinator of the interdiscipinary research group Broadcasting Swissness). My → publications appear in leading journals and with leading publishers in the field, and I am strongly committed to pushing forward the public understanding of science (→ transfer). I am a member of various folklore societies and serve as a co-director of the Swiss Folk Song Archive in Basel. I live in Freiburg.
